What is it? Providing free consultation and eco movement proactively to minimize waste production and manage waste treatment for HIMATEK (Chemical Enginnering Student Association) & the department of Chemical Engineering (CE) ITB

What are the 30 day targets/impact?
• Conducting interview with HIMATEK & Chemical Engineering ITB to find out the waste problems
• Get and analyze waste production and waste treatment data from Che Night Event as a benchmark for minimizing waste prcduction in other events
• Observe and look for waste treatment system improvements through lecturers, Ganesha Hijau(GH) KM ITB,and literature study
• Bulid Eco Chemical Engineering Team consist of 8 person to support this project

What is the long term objective?
• Create new mechanism (SOP) to minimize waste production and manage waste treatment for HIMATEK and CE ITB
• Encourage HIMATEK’s & CE ITB’s activities culture in order to Zero Waste Event (Green Event)
• Provide facilities to support Eco Chemical Engineering area

What and When are the key milestones between day 1 and day 30?
• Conducting interview : 9 -10 Feb 2010
• Study from lecturers & literature : 9-16 Feb 2010
• Study from elements which join in Ganesha Hijau KM ITB: 9-20 Feb 2010

What are the key risks?
• Brought this issue to many elements which join in Ganesha Hijau KM ITB is quiet difficult
• There is possibility HIMATEK& CE ITB don’t want to run my suggestion because I don’t have any authority

Problem Definition
How can I introduce new mechanism to minimize 60 % waste production and manage waste treatment for HIMATEK and Chemical Engineering ITB in three months

Context
--HIMATEK and CE ITB still produces waste in significant amounts
--Che Night (Chemical Engineering Night) produce waste more than 7 L each person
--There hasn’t anykind of waste separation in recycle bin

Criteria and measures for success:
--Minimize 60 % waste production and manage waste treatment for HIMATEK and Chemical Engineering ‘s big Events in three months
--Create new mechanism to minimize and manage waste
--Treatment for HIMATEK and CE ITB

Boundaries and limits:
Because we want to get the big impact for 3 months, so we focus on:
-Minimize waste production in “Big Events”, not daily activity.
-Manage waste just for organic and anorganic.

---Encorage the head of university to give instruction to all department in ITB to develop ITB Eco Campus

4. How can I get the data to know the impact (minimizing the waste
production data), How can I know the impact from CE culture
--Build special division to focus to assist committee for making Green
Event and get the data to know the impact
--Analyze the waste production rate in each event (Che Night, Syukwis, LRPTN)
--Analyze the waste management in each event (Che Night, Syukwis, LRPTN)
5. How can I separate organiz waste and
anorganic waste
--Provide units of waste storage contains separated organic & anorganic waste in CE and HIMATEK area
6. What can I provide facilities to support this
Provide plates, glasses, recycle bag, waste storage to reduce the waste production for many events in Chemical Engineering area
